The Mount’s master storyteller: Kyle Teixeira takes top writing honors
In college athletics, the most compelling drama often happens off the scoreboard. For Kyle Teixeira, who was recently promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications and Marketing at Mount Saint Mary College, capturing those human moments isn’t just a job description – it’s an award-winning craft.
Teixeira was recently named the District I winner in the prestigious 2025–26 CSC Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest (College Division), taking top honors in the Coach/Administrator Profile category. His winning feature, “From the Pitch to the Sideline: How Joe Dolan Has Continued His Legacy at the Mount,” traced the journey of women’s soccer Head Coach Joe Dolan from his days as a standout student-athlete to his current impact steering the program.
In a field of nearly 500 entries across the country, Teixeira’s ability to look past the box scores and find the heart of the Knights' community set him apart. With the district title secured, his story now advances to the national ballot later this month. Whether or not he brings home the national trophy, one thing is clear: the stories of our athletes and coaches are in the best possible hands.
