Dozens named to Academic Honor Roll

Three MSMC programs boast double-digit selections

It’s been a good year for the Knights: Nearly 80 Mount student-athletes were recently named to the Skyline Conference 2023-24 Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Three programs featured at least ten selections with ten programs represented overall.

The Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in the sports of Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse, Baseball, and Softball.

To earn a spot on the list, student-athletes must earn a 3.3 grade point average in the spring semester or a 3.3 cumulative grade point average in Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Men’s and Women’s Swimming, seasons that span both the Fall and Spring semesters.

Trevor Purcell’s Baseball program led the way with a department-high of 19 selections to the Honor Roll, followed by 12 picks from Samantha Howe’s Softball squad. Mike Lowell’s Women’s Lacrosse team boasted 10 selections to the list for the Knights.

The Men’s Lacrosse team featured nine selections for the Mount, with Women's Outdoor Track and Field featuring eight, Women’s Basketball earning six, and Men’s Basketball and Men’s Outdoor Track and Field each earning four. Men’s Tennis and Women’s Swimming each saw three student-athletes recognized for their academic performance.

“Scholastic achievement is a cornerstone of the Skyline Conference, and the educational experience and academic success of our student-athletes is a priority to the Skyline membership,” said newly-appointed Skyline Conference Commissioner Melissa Reilly. “I applaud each of the student-athletes and our schools for their commitment and continued success.”

She added, “Our student-athletes are shining examples of the Division III philosophy. Congratulations on your achievements in the classroom.”
