1970

Hilary (Hallas) Mitchell and Nancy (Foy) Benson, nurses, former roommates from 1976-1980, and friends for life, met in Northampton, Mass., a midpoint between their homes in Connecticut and Vermont.

1971

Susan Dowling-Quarles celebrated her 76th birthday over the 4th of July weekend with her husband Russ and son Thomas and his family at home in Little Rock. Thomas, his wife Jessica, and grandchildren Henry, Evelyn, Roland, and Ethan visited from Washington state, where he is stationed with the US Army.

1973

Sandi (Lombardi) Byrne and her husband, Stephen J. Byrne, are currently President and Historical Researcher at Research Specialists, LLC. After graduating from the Mount, Sandi moved to Boca Raton, Fla., and taught at Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach before moving on to the School District of Palm Beach County for more than 30 years. She attended Nova Southeastern University twice, earning her certification in Educational Media for grades K-12 and a Master of Science in Educational leadership. She then served as an Assistant Principal and then Principal and is now a published author. Read more about Sandi and Stephen’s careers here.

In July Eileen (Gahan) Curtin, Marie (Matarazzo) Mundy, Mickey (Gallo) Cook, Eileen (McElhill) Brucia, Claire (McGovern) Boland, Karen (Whitbread) Weckmanand, and Marilyn (O’Connell) McGarry celebrated over 50 years of friendship at the Gallo house on Fire Island.

Joseph O’Connor cruised the Caribbean for two weeks, and shared, “We were swing dancing, getting massages, and savoring sunsets. Feeling perfectly at ease and 10/15 years younger.” 

1974

Sharon (Reap) Longobardi welcomed a new grandchild this year. Jordan Philip is number 12. “We are truly blessed.”

In late June and early July, Steve Otlowski ’74 and Deb ’76 toured Europe from Paris to Prague, Krakow, and Warsaw (with a Mosel-Rhine cruise in the middle). Lots of history, amazing scenery, and great food. In August, they took a week-long road trip to Quebec and Montreal. They're looking forward to wherever 2026 takes them.

1975

When the Mount’s annual class reunion weekend was moved from Fall of 2025 to Spring of 2026, Cynthia S. White McVey and her friends from the Class of 1975 decided to host their own reunion – right here on campus! Read more about it here.

1977

Kathleen (Gallagher) Bush says, “loving retirement in New Hampshire! Come visit!”

Richard Reed retired in 2011 after 35 years as a professor. He taught psychiatric nursing, research, and clinical psychology. He’s been married for 38 years. Since his retirement, he’s written six novels. He says, “I think often of my time at the Mount, of the quality of my education there and of the friends I made. It was a privilege for which I am eternally grateful.”

Michael Vega and his wife Gunilla just celebrated 40 years of marriage and are now retired. They split their time between their home in New York and their country house in Sweden. They have two wonderful daughters and two adorable granddaughters. 

1979

After 46 years as a critical care nurse working at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital, Brenda (Boenig) Taegder retired one year ago. She received her MSN from WCSU and became certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has a daughter who also became a nurse and she works as a kidney transplant nurse in Nashville. Brenda has held her CCRN for over 40 years and received the Daisy Award.

1981

Anne (Fitzgerald) Conway and friends from the class of 1981 recently held a holiday gathering at the beach.

Linda (Dobias) Dombroski is still a member of the MSMC Alumni Association and the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Foundation Board. She will be establishing a scholarship at MSMC to support future nurses. She is proud to be on both boards supporting their endeavors.

Kathleen Anne Killeen is enjoying continual success as FLOWERS by KK, specializing in wedding floral decor while serving Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, S.C.

1982

Dr. Michael J. Fraser was recently selected as a sitting board member with the Glove City Sluggers Boxing Club, Gloversville, N.Y. He works as a sports psychology consultant throughout the United States.

1983

After retiring from 31 years of teaching full time in May of ’22, Laurie Ann (Iuzzini) Lawrence spent one year subbing full time. Life had other plans, so she retired for good in September 2023. She’s finally enjoying full retirement, and recently adopted a shelter pup! Audrey Ann is a 2 year-old AmStaff/Pit, who brings much joy and laughter. She says, “our family is thriving and happy. Waiting on my husband’s retirement!”

Kerry (King) Sokolohorsky recently retired from Helen Hayes Hospital after working for over 40 years at the facility. Her most recent position was Associate Director of Nursing.

1991

Donna P. Clark ’91 MsEd. ’95 says “I continue to be a proud Mountie.  Now I am a proud ‘Mema’ of a Mountie, Beatrice Kildare! Bea is entering her sophomore year at MSMC.”

1994

Cecilia (Jennifer) Zamprelli-Jones, known as "Muppet" to her friends, lives in Washington State, and the PNW has been home since 2009. As a Management Analyst for the Governor with the Office of Equity, she works to create a Washington State where everyone has full access to the opportunities, power, and resources they need to flourish and achieve their full potential, for the next seven generations and beyond.

1999

After earning her degree in Psychology, Sabrina (Vasquez) Duda has built a fulfilling career as a school teacher with the Newburgh School District. She recently launched her online coaching business, BYLT Haus Fitness through which Sabrina empowers women — especially busy mothers — to reclaim their confidence, strength, and vitality through personalized training, nutrition, and mindset coaching.

2005

Steven Bocker is Senior Engagement Manager at Capgemini Projects and Consulting and Technical Director, State of Texas MSI Enterprise Architecture. He enjoys traveling, hunting, and innovating, all while running a large multi-year enterprise engagement. He is seeking talent for projects and technologies for business and government.

Justin Schiedel was recently promoted to Supervisor of Borough Operations for NYC Parks on Staten Island.

2009

Michael Emsworth took a position with The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities as the Hudson Valley/Taconic Region Records Management Coordinator.

2010

Heather McGuinnes says, “as a proud 2010 alumna of MSMC, I cherish the transformative years spent on campus. The Mount fostered lifelong friendships, profound personal growth, and a solid foundation that continues to shape my journey today. On October 4, 2025, I married my amazing partner. Today, I’m thrilled to serve as Legal and Compliance Manager (and paralegal) for a retail energy supplier in Houston, Texas.”

2011

Shanta Sweet Mancebo spent most of her career in a corporate environment and transitioned to the nonprofit sector in 2021. This shift has allowed her to pursue her passion for supporting health and wellness communities. She currently serves as the Director of Operations and Administration for the Martin Center Sickle Cell Initiative, a local nonprofit organization based in Indianapolis.

2014

2021

In Memoriam

Brenda (Baxter) Nickerson ’77 sadly announces the passing of Kenneth S. Baxter at the age of 102 and a half. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.
