The Mount isn’t just teaching the future of digital media. We’ve built a studio to match it.
The college recently completed a massive, professional-grade overhaul of its TV studio in Aquinas Hall, turning the facility into a high-tech command center for the Digital Media Production program.
The transformation establishes a full 4K workflow, ensuring that when Mount students step behind the camera, they are training on the highest industry standards.
The upgrade is more than just a resolution boost. The studio now boasts a state-of-the-art vMix switcher and a professional LED lighting grid designed to maximize the potential of green screen productions and virtual sets. Enhanced audio capabilities have also been integrated, turning the space into a powerful hub for student podcasting and sound design.
Perhaps the most forward-looking feature is invisible to the naked eye: the cloud.
Recognizing the decentralized nature of modern broadcasting, the new system allows for seamless remote livestreaming and professional caller integration. Students can now beam in guests for live interviews from anywhere in the world or manage direct mobile streaming, mirroring the dynamic environment of 24-hour news and digital content creation.
“The revamped MSMC TV studio provides our Digital Media Production students with an unparalleled environment to create,” said Merle Becker, instructor of Digital Media Production. “They are working in a studio that mirrors industry standards, giving them a critical edge as they enter careers in broadcasting, digital production, and creative communications.”
From Visual Communication to Digital Media, this investment ensures that the next generation of Mount storytellers won’t just be watching the future of media; they’ll be broadcasting it.
