Knights together, friendship forever

Generations of grads, spanning decades of Mount history, journeyed back to their alma mater during the Fall 2023 semester for the college’s annual Alumni Reunion Weekend.
A little rain didn’t dampen their enthusiasm as alumni and their families celebrated their accomplishments, caught up with old friends and professors, and saw what’s new at the college that launched their careers. The alumni from the Classes of 1968 and 1973 enjoyed a joint reunion dinner at the start of the weekend.
During the festivities, Anne Rich ’73 was presented with the James V. McEnery Alumni Service Award for her continued service to her alma mater. This includes her roles as co-chair of the Nursing Alumni Advisory Committee, a volunteer for the Challenge of the Decades fundraiser, and serving on the Class of 1971’s Reunion Committee.

Anne Marie Cullinan ’73 was honored with the college’s Distinguished Alumni Award, recognizing her contributions to society through her professional and volunteer work. For nearly 50 years, Cullinan has been committed to student growth, as well as developmental and academic excellence. She has also volunteered in many parish activities and created countless ties to her community.
The 1960s alumni were honored with an oversized Adirondack chair, in recognition of their dedication to future Mount students. Earlier this year, the college’s Challenge of the Decades campaign surpassed its goal for student scholarship support, collecting more than $100,000 in donations from generous alumni. The decade that had the highest percentage of alumni participation would win the challenge, and in the end, alumni who graduated in the 1960s came out on top.

About a week later, academic success was the main course at the Scholarship Appreciation Brunch, which allowed the college community to thank the many generous donors who provide endowed scholarships for Mount students.
More than 80 scholarships were highlighted at the event. Mount scholarships provide an affordable, values-based education to thousands of deserving students, many of whom are among the first in their families to attend college.
