A nice ring to it: Women’s Basketball team honored for 2025 Skyline Championship title

There’s a special kind of electricity that fills the Kaplan Recreation Center when history and the present moment collide. That spark wasn’t just in the air of November 22 – it was glinting off the polished stones of championship rings.

Before the first whistle blew against Sarah Lawrence College, the women's basketball team paused to look back. In a pre-game ceremony that brought the crowd to its feet, the Knights officially closed the book on their historic 2024-25 Skyline Championship season.

The event was a sort of homecoming for seven returning graduates who helped build that championship legacy. Along with those alumnae, five current key players – Keira Frias, Maggie Trinkaus, Sara Cashin, Angelina Donato, and Brianna Guglielmo – stepped forward to receive their well-earned recognition.

When the basketball team jumped into a match with Sarah Lawrence College, they used that pregame energy as fuel for an explosive victory. The Knights opened the game on a blistering 10-2 run, effectively telling the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons that while the rings were from last year, the hunger lives on.

Led by the powerhouse trio of Sara Cashin (19 points, 11 rebounds), Brianna Guglielmo (17 points, 10 rebounds), and Maggie Trinkaus (9 rebounds), the Mount out-paced the Gryphons in a 50-26 rebounding clinic.

By the time Gabby Ziegenbalg checked in to bury back-to-back three-pointers, the lead had ballooned to nearly 20 points. The Knights never looked back, coasting to an 85-58 victory.

As the lights dimmed in the Kaplan Center, the message was clear: The 2024-25 rings are beautiful, and the current team was already looking for a set to match.
